The Tanne hills were guests of their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Tannehill. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Briggs re turned home from a two weeks vacation Thursday, going as far east as Montana. On their re turn home their guests were Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Carnegie, Albany. Mrs. Briggs and Mr. Carnegie are sister and brother. Miss Frances Myers of Yakima, Villiase Missions Missionary is spending a few days here with the Misses Wanda Needles and Jean Scott. Miss Needles motored to Long Creek Sunday evening to assist there in the church for a couple of days. Mr. and Mrs. Rollin Bishop motored to The Dalles for the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. John Walker spent the weekend in Enterprise with Mrs. Walkers parents Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Evans. Their son Dickie, who has been with his grandparents returned home. Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Shattuck and family and Mrs .Delia Faul ker, motored to Bickleton, Wash., Saturday where they attended the Pioneer Picnic. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Faulker, Kelso, Wash., re turned hime with the Shattucks for the weekend. Mr. Faulker is Delia Faulkers son and a brother of Mrs. Shattuck. Robert Fortner and Donald Gil lespie motored to Portland Friday to attend the Rose Festival. Mrs. E. Hulit, Nancy, Evelyn, Marie and David Hulit were also in Portland for the Rose show. Mrs. Clarence Thomas and son Butchy, Josf ph, were guests at her sisters, Mrs. Frank Marlow Friday to Sunday. Mrs Ed Kunje received word that Mrs. Nick Faler was operated on in Portland Thursday, and is in a serious condition. Lexington News By Delpha Jones The Three Links Club met at the home of Mrs. C. C. Jones on Thursday afternoon with five members present. The meeting was presided over by the presl dent, Mrs. Jones. The club voted to buy an electric hot-water heater for the dining room. Mike Palmer, small son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Palmer under went a tonsilectomy in the Pio neer Memorial hospital last Fri day. Visitors in Lexington at the Dan Way home Friday were: Mrs. Bert Darnielle and children Betty and Judy from The Dalles; Mrs. Carl Breeding from Stanfield and Mrs. George Irven and children of Ordnance Charlene Jones returft ed to Ordnance with them and visited the Irvens and Judy Dar nielle. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Breshears spent the weekend in The Dalles with their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Crump, the Crumps who have made their home in The Dalles are moving to Reedsport,' Oregon. Mr. and Mrs. Art Hunt and children Shirley and Don and Alex Hunt and sons Ellwood and Edward, and Mr. and Mrs. Otto Ruhl were among the guests at the Clair Hunt wedding in The Dalles Sunday. Clair is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hunt. Mrs. Irven Rauch is a patient in Pioneer Memorial hospital in Heppner. Mrs. Rauch underwent major surgery Monday. Mrs. Bob Davidson and Mrs. Wilbur Steagall motored to Port land Friday taking several of Mrs. Bob Hagerud's twirling class with them who In turn took part In the Junior Rose show parade in Portland. The girls going 'down were:Dora Sue Davidson and sis ter Beverley, Pat and Barbara Steagall, Nancy Wright and Maureen Groves. The banner bearers were Bobby Davidson and Jimmie Steagoll. Mr. and Mrs. Oral Wright and daughter Lynn also motored down. Guests last weekend at the O. E. Breeding home was their daughter Mrs. Don Grant and children from Yamhill. Paul Breeding returned home with her for a visit. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Martin were visitors in Stanfield Sunday. The election for a school di rector was Monday the 16th with A. F. Majeske winning the re election for a school director. AWARDED SCHOLARSHIP AT O. S .C. Miss Carolyn Sparks of Milton Freewater, granddaughter of Mrs. Nellie Anderson and neice of Ervin Anderson of Heppner ha.; been awarded a Scholarship at OSC. She will be a senior on the campus this fall. The scholar ship was awarded by the Mother s club and is for tuition for the entire year. Ronald Reid returned Sunday evening from Portland where he spent the weekend attending' the Rose Festival. The last 4-H activity of the month is Summer Camp which will be held at Herron Creek on June 27, 28, and 29. Delegates to Summer Camp were picked by leaders and mem bers of each club. Five percent of the enrollment were eligible to attend camp, which provides a group of 50 boys and girls eleven years or older.
