Carle, who died at her 4 home, Sunday, April 1, were held at the Congregational church Monday Afternoon. Mrs. Carle was born Due. 13, 1852, in Decatur, Michigan. She married Thomas J. Carle, March 31, 1880, In Cuss Co., Missouri moving to Weaton, Oregon where aha lived a few years. After li v Ing on a homestead north of lone tbey moved about 1894 to lone where ahe helped her husband who wan postmaster a few vein. Then tht-y moved to the house, where the wai llving.during her last yean and there conOucted a rooming house. She it survived by one sinter, Mn. At the regular meeting of the Common Council of the City of lone, the usual matters of routine business were disposed of. and and the Mayor announced the aettlngof April 14th as City Clean Up Day. It appearing from the reoord that Councilman W. S. Smith had not , been in attendance on the meetings of the Council for a number of consecutive session in C.ces of the statutory limit, hia office was declared vacant and A. A. McCaba was appointed to fill out the unexpired term. There are to be elected at the this year four councilmen, the mayor, treasurer, recorder and marshal.
