Two trains, both laden with ps6engers, met in a direct head-on colli sion on the Grand Trunk railroad at 3:45 this morning in the suburbs of this city, and that the number of dead and injured was not fourfold greater is due to tho cir cumstance that the collision occurred in tho suburbs of the city, where the trains slackened speed.
