OREGON PAGE FOUR Native of Chile Weekend Guest At Ault Home By Mrs. Robert Nagle WILLOW SPRINGS — Valen tino Ortiz, a native of Chile, South America, was a guest of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Ault over the weekend. Ortiz is to be in Medford three weeks at the U.S. Soil Conservation office. Then he will go to San Luis Obispo, Calif., to be there until fall when he will enroll at Oregon State college. Mr. and Mrs. L. C. McMahan, Karoline and Paul have just re turned from a two week vaca tion in Forth Worth, Dallas and Long View. Texas. While there they visited with his grandmoth er, Mrs. Fuller, who is 97 years old. Mr. and Mrs. L. A. West and daughter, Verna Lu, from Rose burg are now guests at the McMahan home. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Har rison are very busy remodeling an additional bedroom on their home Their son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Harrison and family, were Sunday visitors Mrs. Anna Wolff spent Sun day in Grants Pass at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Boardman. Mr. and Mrs. Ora F. Arnett and daughter from Klamath Falls were weekend visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bezoff, Mrs. Bczoffs brother, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Chism, and two daughters from Ashland were Sunday evening visitors at the Bezoff home. Mr and Mrs. Roy Colpitts family and most of their rela tives from the valley had a pic nic Sunday in Ashland. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Parent and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Weiss went on a Sunday drive to Mon tague and Yreka, Calif. Sharon Blackford, from Happy Camp, Calif., has been visiting with her grandmother, Mrs. Olive Blackford. Richard Muellor is now work ing in Happy Camp, Calif. Community Picnic Willow Springs Community club annual potluck picnic will be held July 8 at Jackson Hot Springs. Everyone is urg ed to attend. Mrs. Benson was hostess to the Royal Neighbors, Central l*oint unit, at the Cleo Young home recently. Mr. and Mrs. I. D. Guimond and son. Dale, from Bremerton. Wash., stopped on the way to California to visit at the John Cota home. Cpl. Dick Purdv. son of Mr. and Mrs Archie Purdy, is at tending Oregon National Guard camp at Fort Lewis, Wash, for two weeks. Mr and Mrs. W. E. Turner of Klamath Falls were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hallett Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Young and family and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Ward and family went fishing on the Applegate river Homa from Germany Sgt. Allan Waterson arrived home Monday morning after al most two years in Munich, Ger many. He and his wife. Ruby Mae. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Weiss, are now vacation- ing. His parents are Mr and Mrs. J. R. Bell of Medford. After July 22, he will be sta tioned at Moses Lake, Wash. Sunday. They reported a small catch of fish. Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Smith and her father, Mr. Young, went to Brookings Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Don Christy and family went fishing at Prospect Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Cota, Darlene and Don of Oakland were Sunday visitors at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Cota. In the after noon they attended the Catfish Derby at Tou Velle park. Mr. and Mrs. Sharon Wight were Sunday dinner guests at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Conner of Medford. Mrs. Louise Brown has a brok en foot and toes as a result of a recent car accident. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Nagle and family were Sunday visit ors at the W. C. Martin home in Medford. Several Willow Springs chil dren have been attending Bible school at the Community Bible church and are enjoying it Visitors at the C. R. Rites Held June 20 For Walter Hueners Dog Ordinance Rules Outlined Walter Robert Hueners, 31, who died of a self inflicted gun shot wound at Toketee Falls Sunday, June 17, was a brother of Carl Hueners, Medford, em ployee of Central Point branch. First National Bank of Portland. Douglas County Coroner L. L. Powers reported Hueners had been in ill health and despond ent recently. He was an em ployee of COPCO. Services were held yesterday afternoon from the Conger- Morris chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Kordy, of St. Marks Lutheran church, officiating. In terment was in Jacksonville cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Mae Jean; two sons; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Hueners, Jacksonville; five brothers and two sisters. City residents were made aware of the city ordinance per taining to the dog problem last week when copies of Ordinance 321 were included with monthly water statements. The city ordinance defines dogs as nuisances if they: (a) howl or bark in such a manner as to deprive any person of peace and quiet, or (b) roam about the city, or (c) trespass on property other than that of the owner or custodian of the dog, or (d) bite anyone or show a propensity to bite persons. The ordinance also provides that it is unlawful and a violation of this ordinance for anyone to allow his dog to be a nuisance in any of the ways mentioned. County Contributes $3,436 to Heart Fund A total of $53,199.83 was rais ed in Oregon during the recent Heart Fund campaign, accord ing to Henry Andreae, state heart fund chairman. The total, $23,675.80 was col lected on Heart Sunday, the single afternoon house-to-house canvass on February 26. Jackson county raised a total of $3,436.25, of which $1,455.01 was collected on Heart Sunday. According to Andreae Medford raised $3,308.25, Ashland $60.50 and Talent $52.50.
