Native of Chile
Weekend Guest
At Ault Home

WILLOW SPRINGS — Valen­
tino Ortiz, a native of Chile,
South America, was a guest of
Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Ault over
the weekend. Ortiz is to be in
Medford three weeks at the U.S.
Soil Conservation office. Then
he will go to San Luis Obispo,
Calif., to be there until fall
when he will enroll at Oregon
State college.
Mr. and Mrs. L. C. McMahan,
Karoline and Paul have just re­
turned from a two week vaca­
tion in Forth Worth, Dallas and
Long View. Texas. While there
they visited with his grandmoth­
er, Mrs. Fuller, who is 97 years
old.
Mr. and Mrs. L. A. West and
daughter, Verna Lu, from Rose­
burg are now guests at the
McMahan home.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Har­
rison are very busy remodeling
an additional bedroom on their
home Their son and wife, Mr.
and Mrs. C. R. Harrison and
family, were Sunday visitors
Mrs. Anna Wolff spent Sun­
day in Grants Pass at the home
of her daughter, Mrs. Frank
Boardman.
Mr. and Mrs. Ora F. Arnett
and daughter from Klamath
Falls were weekend visitors at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack
Bezoff, Mrs. Bczoffs brother,
Mr. and Mrs. Lee Chism, and
two daughters from Ashland
were Sunday evening visitors at
the Bezoff home.
Mr and Mrs. Roy Colpitts
family and most of their rela­
tives from the valley had a pic­
nic Sunday in Ashland.
Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Parent
and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Weiss
went on a Sunday drive to Mon­
tague and Yreka, Calif.
Sharon Blackford, from Happy
Camp, Calif., has been visiting
with her grandmother, Mrs.
Olive Blackford.
Richard Muellor is now work­
ing in Happy Camp, Calif.

club annual potluck picnic
will be held July 8 at Jackson
Hot Springs. Everyone is urg­

After July 22, he will be sta­
tioned at Moses Lake, Wash.
Sunday. They reported a small
catch of fish.
Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Smith
and her father, Mr. Young, went
to Brookings Sunday.

family went fishing at Prospect

Derby at Tou Velle park.

en foot and toes as a result of
a recent car accident.

The city ordinance defines
dogs as nuisances if they: (a)
howl or bark in such a manner
as to deprive any person of peace
and quiet, or (b) roam about the
city, or (c) trespass on property
other than that of the owner or
custodian of the dog, or (d) bite
anyone or show a propensity to
bite persons.
The ordinance also provides
that it is unlawful and a violation
of this ordinance for anyone to
allow his dog to be a nuisance
in any of the ways mentioned.

$3,436 to Heart Fund
A total of $53,199.83 was rais­
ed in Oregon during the recent
Heart Fund campaign, accord­
ing to Henry Andreae, state
heart fund chairman.
The total, $23,675.80 was col­
lected on Heart Sunday, the
single afternoon house-to-house
canvass on February 26.
Jackson county raised a total
of $3,436.25, of which $1,455.01
was collected on Heart Sunday.
According to Andreae Medford
raised $3,308.25, Ashland $60.50
and Talent $52.50.
