OREGON PAGE IGlR LOCALS Mrs. Bonney received a letter from Mrs Hulburt saying that it was cold and rainy and that her little son would have to wait until he came back to southern Oregon for his coat of tan. Mr. and Mrs. Hulburt are in Seattle where Mr. Hulburt is at tending »chool. Mr. and Mrs. Paxon from Lo> Angeles left for Canada this week after a visit with their friends Mr and Mrs Rossi at the Rossj Motel Mr. Paxon is an artist and has been doing some pictures while here. They plan to stop here on their re turn trip. Mr. and Mrs. Ora Meyers and -Mr. and Mrs Frank Lawrence spent Sunday up above Union Creek at Minneha Falls. They report it was very beautiful, some snow left but nice and warm. They had a good catch of fish. Mr. W. G. Trill, who has been confined in the Community hospital recovering from a fall, has returned to his home on West 2nd Street. Medford. Word was received here of the sad news of the death of Mrs. Lula M. Penland in Marshfield last week. Mrs. Penland is well known here, having lived in the Eagle Point and Table Rock district. Her son Mel- burn Atkins lives at Eagle Point and her daughter Mrs. John Nealon lives at Table Rock Grandchildren, who live here are Melburn. Everett and Leonard Atkins and June, Janice and Donna Nealon. Eleanor Fry, who has been visit ing her neice Mrs. Frank Lawrence, left this morning for Santa Marie to stay until our weather cools off. Mrs. John S. Lawrence of Med ford recently returned from Zonta convention at White Suphur Spring in West Virginia. Mrs. Lawrence gives a very interesting account of her Journey. Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Dynge return ed borne after spending the week end with friend» and relative» in Bend. Mr. and Mrs Dyngo and son-in-law and daught er M r. and Mrs. Steile also made a recent trip to Seattle. They enjoyed a picnic on the old donation land claim that had been in the Lough family for the past 50 years. They spent some time at the summer eabin of Mrs Lough's cousin but Mrs Lough said that she wouldn t call it a cabin. It was just a house to her. There were 21 relatives there. Scott left Fri day morning for Eugene where they stopped at the Bruce Powell home where the Powells Joined them and they drove 30 8 miles to Yachats on the coast where they fished, catch ing many tom cod and smelt. They returned home Monday. Mrs Beulah Faber entertained st her country home recently with a stork shower in honor of Mrs. Evelyn Skyrman Officers and mem bers (,f N’evita Chapter of the East ern Star were incited guests.
