Priced extra low for THAT DAY ONLY Mbro Confectionery w A R“«1« p ~ p LONG TERM LOANS SHORT TERM PRIVILEGES = IF DESIRED A party *of 13 Portlanders, con nected with the various public in formation bureaus maintained in that city, stopped in Moro Monday after noon for the purpose of making an inspection of the facilities at this place for the entertainment of tour ists and strangers who annually visit Oregon in search of recreation and a possible place to locate their fu ture homes. The party left Portland late Satur day evening, driving to Eugene where they re/nained all night and contin ued to Bend the next day over the McKenzie pass highway and from Bend coming to Moro over the Cali fornia and Sherman highways. From here they went to The Dalles and over the Columbia highway to Port land. This trip was the 4th of a series planned to be made over the state and when completed the loop trav eled would be approximately 525 miles. At the time,the party was crossing the McKenzie pass a slight flurry of snow was encount ered which added to the enjoyment of the party. The expense of the trips made and to be made are being financed by the Oregon Motor Stage association witl the view of informing tourists oi the Oregon country through thi members of the public information bureaus located at Portland. All members of the party are the ones who come into personal con tact with the public seeking informa tion as to routes of travel and accom modation to be expected at each place where they may intend to stop. Meaton, First Na tional bank travel bureau. ~ Mrs. Elwood and Mrs. Carney,, both of The Dalles, were guests of Mn. Carltdh Ross on an auto drive Monday to this place. They left The Dalles to view an auto wrecked just west of the Deschutes tunnel. The, wrecked car was driven by a woman friend who was driving to Blalock to get her husband, a passenger on the wrecked O-W. R. A N. train. The wrecked caf skidded at the west turn of the tunnel, headed off the pave ment, back onto the pavement and landed wheels up on the outer edge of the north side of the pavement.
