~ Mrs. Elwood and Mrs. Carney,,
both of The Dalles, were guests of
Mn. Carltdh Ross on an auto drive
Monday to this place. They left The
Dalles to view an auto wrecked just
west of the Deschutes tunnel. The,
wrecked car was driven by a woman
friend who was driving to Blalock to
get her husband, a passenger on
the wrecked O-W. R. A N. train. The
wrecked caf skidded at the west turn
of the tunnel, headed off the pave
ment, back onto the pavement and
landed wheels up on the outer edge
of the north side of the pavement.
When the car stopped the driver was
yet at the steering wheel, uninjured.
