At 11 a.m. Arthur Sanders and Frances Morrow was conducted to the house by Dr. Sanders and assumed the 1 marriage pledge of happy bliss. The company had scarcely reached j the gate when the phone rang and W. H. Ragsdale informed the pastor that wedding bells were to ring. In a few minutes he appeared with the happy people, Guy Compton and 1 Sylvestp In^?z Young, both of Wasco 1 county, who pledged themselves in the , holy bond of matrimony and before 12 • noon the pastor was again at his reg ular work. The Monkland people are large hearted and they noted the fact that the work was too heavy for the minister and were glad to relieve him of some of it. Vurn B. Howard, from Grass Val ley, has accepted charge of the light ing and pumping plant for the city, lieginning May 1st. One new regula tion put in force by Mr. Howard will lie a double “ wink” of the lights if forany reason he is to run over the usual time. The new signal will only lie used where the customary signal had been given previously. Dr. C. E.
