Mr. Seymour, of Corvallis, gave a lecture to the members of the Industrial Club and their parents Friday evening. Mr. Jones accompanied him to operate j the lantern, giving pictures to illustrate the talk, which was very instructive I and greatly appreciated. Ed Blum and Lee Tittle each hauled a load of timbers from the mill here for the re-building of the mill at Yellow Fir, which burned some time ago. The pie social held F'riday evening to I raise funds to decorate the booth from this place for the fair at Tillamook this fall, was a success. The sale of the pies netted $11.25. Mrs. Ethel Magarrell, of Tillamook, spent a few days lately visiting relatives j here. Mas. Craven, of Tillamook, spent part of the Week as the guest of her brother, Obe Harris. 3ANDLAKE HAPPENINGS. Mrs. Kva Webb entertained visitors this week. A number of Handlakers celebrated the Fourth at Cloverdale, amoag them being Ulysis and Lester Edwards, Clyde and Willie Webb and Mrs. Searcy. Mr. and Mrs. Bert lloyt spent the week visiting Mr. Hoyt’s mother, Mrs. Peterson. Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Hayes ami daugh ters entertained visitors ou the beach F riday. Mr. Ward und girls celebrated the Fourth at Cape Lookout, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Tittle and Mrs. Mills and children spant the Fourth as guests of Mr and Mrs. John Simmons.
