Kennedy, loft the latter part of last week for their home in Portland. Mark Portwood left last week for Portland to take up a position with the Oregon Electric Co. He is also offered a position in one of the large hardware houses there. Mr. Portwood's ability in clerical work is well known and there is no doubt ho will make good. F. B. Stevens of Pine hidge has rented his ranch to Albert Murphy for a term of three years. !r. Murphy will take possession ore harvest. I. M. Rogers accompanied his ther to Portland Tuesday. s. Wilbur Wade of Olex was in this city Monday evening to at tend the conservation meeting. J. II. Kerr and wife of Lost Valley were in this city on Mon day. They were outgoing pas sengers Tuesday morning. T. C. Mobley of Rock Creek returned to his home Tuesday morning after attending the conservation meeting held in this city Monday evening. Cochran & Co. have some genuine bargains in Western Oregon fruit, dairy and agricul tural lands. " Ed Clough came up from Arl ington Monday evening. Wm. Freeman, conductor on the local branch, returned Mon day een'ngvfrom a weeks vc cation which h spent in Portland. J. A. Richmond was in the city the first of the week from his Ferry Canyon lanch. He has 600 acres in wheat this year and reports it to be in fine condition.
