Clem News. Kenneth Welshons came down from Condon Monday for a few day's visit Mrs. Geo, Welshons left Tues eay for Pendleton to visit rel atives. S. C Dodson was in from the ranch Wednesday with two teams to take out his household goods that were shipped from Condon Wednesday morning. Jas. Larch drove in from the ranch Monday. He says he is busv seedinsr his fall grain and expects to finish about the first week of November. Mr. Larcn is one of the most prosperous farmers of this vicinity. Four bold bad hunters left here last Sunday for the Blue mountains in search of deer That means that there will be be enough venison for the winter when they return. School bearan Monday with a mod attendance. The new build o ing is certainly a credit to the town. Peter Jost is with us again; he like a number of others who have left here and returned, thinks there is no place like Eastern Oregon. Jno Chandler received a Hart 'nrr Gasoline Traction Engine this week to do his plowing on his ranch near here. Whether it is a success or not is yet to be demonstrated. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Wade and little son were here Wednesday on their way to Portland. The Interior Whse Co. received car load of extra fine lumber at their station here last week. R K. Searcv was in town Tues day on his way to Schuttler Flat to hunt geese. Tr is rumored that Geo. A large number of Caledonians from this city and vicinity are in Condon celebrating the annual Caledonian festivities. Cove-Lamb A verv Drettv weddig occured on Wednesday at 12 o'clock at the home of A. B. Lamb in this city, Dr. Howard Gove and Miss Abie Lamb were united m mar- riaee. Both young people are residents of this city. They left on the Condon stage Thursday for Portland where they will spend two weeks before return ing to Fossil.
