' Other cities have Jireld-'- these excursions and received benefit from them. Why not Condon? These country trips would give local merchants and professional men a better insight 1 into conditions in the adjacent country with which they have commercial relations. The plan if carried out determinedly would enlarge the field of operations of 4oeal business men and contrib - - ute to the development of the f country and open new avenues of growth. Condon wants to see everykowh in this district go fArwarH it A mroacA in nrncnor. ity. The exchange of . ideas at these meetings would prove of immense benefit to all concerned. ' TKere is danger of our local busi ness men tieing too closely to the mere town trade and of not - reaching Cat! "Since theurftimely ' " death" of the local Commercial i club, the excursions. to near-by towns are both seasonable and of prime importance. The Globe has at various'times printed cuts of some of the Wheat City buildings. This is not done to render our home pco- fpfe,jir5flffcAFith the var ious"pes of architecture di played in the town but for the -enigLliCSftt,-of our ut-of-town feaWi.he- habitants of the Willamette valley, in particular, ejbetfua rAediStOrted' coi ceptionoi tnis resourceiul; sec tion of Eastern Oregon.
