Tammany Hall L >yal New York, July 31.—Tammany Hall will indorse Bryan and Sewall without waiting for the state con vention. The executive committee this afternoon passed by acclama- • tion a resolution to that effect after defeating a motion to postpone ac tion by a vote of 71 to 4. Immedi ately immense pictures of the dem-! ocracic nominees were raised on the outside of the building and prepar ations began for active work. The executive committee was calk'd to order by James J. Martin. John C. Sheehan introduced the resolution indorsing the Chicago] candidates. In introducing the resolution he explained that at the Chicago convention the delegates from New York fought hard for what they believed was sound money but were largely in the mi nority. He declared it a good dem ocratic rule to stand by the will of the majority when duly expressed, ‘‘Mr. Chairman,” 1 he concluded,! “it seems to me that 1 there is no middle ground. The only course left open to loyal democrats is to stand by the Chicago ticket.” i Great applause marked the <on-| elusion of the speaker's address, j Then he introduced his resolution ' declaring that “the executive com- j mil tee of the democratic organiza tion of the city and county in New York in session in Tammany hall accepts and approves the nomina tion of Bryan and Sewall as the wise determination of the democrat ic national convention and pledge ourselves to the loyal and hearty support of their candidacy.” More cheers greeted the reading of the resolution. Register Rohmer, Henry C. Purroy, State Senator Guy, Congressman Amos Cum tiling*, and other leaders pleaded for united action in behalf of the ticket, ('hailman Martin urged in vain to have action deferred until after the state convention on Sep tember 16th. « On Corner opposite Post Offa e.
