Portland, Feb. 21.— To State Press Answering requests for con cise statement, the Oregon Tax Re form Association submits this anal ysis of the tnxexemption amendment. Its general aim is to release indus try and inprovements from the re- pressure of taxation. D is c u s s the Fairmeetings There was an overflowing attend ance at the Chamber of Commerce Friday evening last, when President McCormac called the meeting to or der. Two Men Killed. Chris Rufini ard Florin Vanai were blown up at Beaver Hill coal mine Tuesday afternoon. In the phraseology of the coal miner “ they went back on the shots” before they had explodd. Rufini and Vanai were engaged in contract work, driving a tunnel in No. 0 gangway. They had put in seven shots and presuming they had all gone off re turned to the face of tbe tunnel. When inspecting the work of their blasts two remaining shots went off sending tbe unfortunate men to their distruction and mutilating thier bodies almost beyond recogna tion. Both victims were middle aged men and experienced coal miners. They were natives of Italy.
