Two Men Killed.
Chris Rufini ard Florin Vanai
were blown up at Beaver Hill coal
mine Tuesday afternoon. In the
phraseology of the coal miner “ they
went back on the shots” before they
had explodd. Rufini and Vanai
were engaged in contract work,
driving a tunnel in No. 0 gangway.
They had put in seven shots and
presuming they had all gone off re
turned to the face of tbe tunnel.
When inspecting the work of their
blasts two remaining shots went off
sending tbe unfortunate men to
their distruction and mutilating
thier bodies almost beyond recogna

Both victims were middle aged
men and experienced coal miners.
They were natives of Italy. The
funeral occurred in this city, Tues
