J « « , m i w - w w Past Noble Grands M e t Friday Evening Mrs. Birdie Skeels’ home on E u>t Second street, was the meet- iiK piece for the Pest Noble Grands club Friday evening, Jen. 7th. Mrs. Iola Garrison was co- hosteesee. A short business meeting was conducted by the president, Mrs. Elvira Carmichael. A splendid report of Christmas activity was given by the committee. Eighty- gaily wrapped gifts were sent to the residents of the I.O .O J . Home in Portland for their individual Christmas gifts. These were con tributed by Past Noble Grand members and from club funds. Many letters were received from various residents expressing their pleasure w ith the gifts. Following the meeting, interest ing contests and games whiled away the pleasant evening. W in ners in the various contests were Mrs. Lenore Hunt, Mrs. Ethel Leach and Mrs. R. E. Boober. A gift was presented them from the group. The newly installed worthy ma tron, resplendent with a lovely orchid, gave a splendid talk, ac cepting the honor bestowed upon her and stating that “Sincerity” would be her watchword for the coming year. Her husband as worthy patron gave a short but sincere talk emphasizing his co operation with her and the chap ter. St. James’ choir, under the leadership of Wayne Smith, sang several splendid numbers, solo parte being taken by Mrs. Charles Stauff, Mrs. Joy Brown and Mrs. Roberta Aasen. Muriel Dae A r- dath presided at the piano. Later refreshments were served in the banquet hall by Mrs. J. A. Moore and her committee. Mrs. Hal Pierce and Mrs. Leona Bryant presided at the attractively dec orated tea table. Royal Neighbors Practise Drills Two tables of pinochle were in play when Mrs. Robert Arnold en tertained on Friday evening.
