After a uncial vis t of an hour, the lialges went to Gales' where lunch was served. While the parlors were somewhat crowded, the entertainment was faultless in other respects. The visit of Grand Master Welch appears to be highly appreci ated by the fraternity, and ou the streets bis remarks In the lodge are heartily commended. Elkanah Walker, misj-ionary in China and brother of our Levi Walker, of Forest drove, is stationed at Foo-Chow, a large seaport town in the Southern province of Fo-Kien. The Boxer disturbances have not ex tended that far south yit and no anxiety is felt for Mr. Walker's safityby his Forest Grove re'al Ives and friends. That section of the em pire had its Utile unpleasantness about twenty years a, r, when there was a sea fight between a French squadron and that part of the Chinese navy stationed at Fimi-CIiow.
