Everything would have gone along swimmingly, only Clear Creek decided to follow the pro hibition movement and dried up suddenly, leaving the cedar bolts high and dry. P. S. - Wanted to know the whereabouts o f the W. A. Jones Employment Agency, if you find it, bring the reward I to the Progress office. Death of Brother The many friends o f R. E. El lison o f Estacada, manager of the dry goods department o f the Cary Mercantile Co., will be grieved to learn that he received a telegram Wednesday morning, announcing the sudden death of his brother, Wade H. Ellison, at Pennington Gap, Virginia. Ow ing to the long trip that would be necessary, Mr. Ellison has found it impossible to attend the funeral. The bills are already out call ing attention to a big dance to be given at Barton, Saturday eve ning, January 30th, with dancing from 9 P. M. to 3 A. M. and ate cars for Estacada and Portland.
