I lines, bureau di rector, said in an address for delivery toduy before members of tbe Disabled American Veterans of the World war, at their fifth annual convention hero today. Throughout his address, General Hinea Btresacd bis desire for a con tinuance of cooperation between tbe bureau and tbe veterans and their officials. "This spirit of coopera tion," he said, "must prevail as it Is one of tbe largest factors in putting over the job." The telephone equipment was un damaged but holes were burned through int othe walls from the of fice at the Central Oregonian where the fire originated and where mure than ?5000 worth of damage was done to the machinery, according to late estimates. For those in terested, the association announces that Tuesday evening, 7:30, to 9:0O o'clock has been set aside for this purpose. A competent instructor will be on hand to teach swimming to those who wish to learn, and for tho! who wish to become more proficient in the art.
