M. Glen, dean of music at the institu tion, that she desires to remain in New York another year and cannot accept the position. In her place will be Miss Grace Campbell, of Portland, who Is a pupil of Mrs. Walter Reed. She Is a dramatic soprano, and her singing has been highly praised by all the music critics who have haerd her. Mrs. Ueed highly recommends her. Many Eugene people have heard her in the choir of the Grace M. E. church at Portland. Miss Campbell will be at her stu dio at the University from Monday until Friday of next week and stu dents desiring to consult her may do so between those dates. BANKER OSBURN RUN DOWN BY AUTOMOBILE F. W. Osburn, cashier of the Eu gene Loan & Savings Bank, was run down by an automobile on Willam ette street In front of the Hampton store last evening about 8 o'clock and severely, but not seriously injured H was rlHine alone the street on his1 bicycle' when the machine, driven Miss May VanWinkle and occupied bv her brother, J. M. Van Winkle. Elmer Sweaney and Miss Lizzie Knox, came around the corner from Eighth street and bore down upon him. He attempted to turn Into the sidewalk but the auto continued to head for him. Osburn was picked up and taken o his home. Dr. kuykendall was call- ed and made an examination of the injuries. He Is feeling belter today. but will be unable to be out for sev eral davs. Miss Van Winkle fainted away after the accident and it still almost prostrated. She was in no way to blame.
