In her own behalf. Her statements were corrobo rated by all the witnesses for the de fense. In her behalf her mother and a number of friends from Kugene were present as witnesses. Among them were Mrs. Mary E. Honig, mother of the defendant; Mrs. (Jeorge McMann, Mrs. Julia Caylor, -Miss Krankle Cay lor and Mrs. Claude Gaby. A young saleswoman at Meier & Franks testified positively that the defendant was not the woman who came to the department store and asked that a dress be charged to Harry Iteddlug, her husband. She described In detail the other woman, who had represented herself to be the wife of the hotel steward, but was positive that the defendant was not tint woman. In rendering his decision Judge Van Zante not only found the defend ant! not guilty, and dismissed the case, but look occasion to declare Hint In his opinion she had been . lemij exouermtd.
