The ceremony was made the occasion for a big dem onstration In which the Hepnhllcan organizations of Utica, Itochester. I Troy, Syracuse and other cities took part. In addition to the other visit-' ors the early morning traliiB brought the members of the notification com mittee, representing nearly all the states and territories. The event of the day was preceded by a parade which marched through the decorated streets of the down town section. The actual notifica tion ceremonies were simple In char acter.
