Today's goulan: The steamer Eugene measured by Professor Barnes, of the Custom-House force, yesterday, and today will be Inspected, preparatory to entering the river trade as a steam barge. The vessel was formerly a well known river steamer, and about three years ago Btarted f r the Klondike bnt failed to get there. The subsequent litigation was nearly as varied and expensive as that of tbe other steamer Eugene which was sold by the United Btates Marshal yesterday, but she Anally got back to Portland, and has now been made over Into a very handy craft for river work.
