Malnes' Sunday night, Dec. 11, 1908. The singing at Mr. Hayes' last Sunday night was well attended and much enjoyed by all. We anticipate Just as pleasant an evening at Mr. Malnes'. There will be a Christmas pro gram at the Harmony school house Wednesday night, December 23d. All are invited to come. Allen McLean, Thomas Dickey and Lynn Jones came down from the up per logging camp Saturday afternoon and went back Sunday morning. Quite a number of the Harmony young folks attended the basket so cial at Gooseneck Saturday evening. There were also a few from Pleasant View. In spite of the cold weather ail enjoyed the long drive, for the time was beguiled with laughter and song. Van Dickey has just finished set ting out three acres of peach trees and J. B. Hayes ia preparing the ground for about six acres more. Ray Goldsmith, Roy McCollum and Will Frail came down from the mill Saturday night and returned Mon day morning. During their absence Ray's shack caught fire, The build ine was saved but everything in it was lost, and the Inside badly burn ed. The cause of the fire is not known. The Ten-Mile flume is fantastically ornamented with Icicles. If this kind of weather keeps on It will be froz en over like it was last year. Frank Barber purchased an organ at Coad's sale last Saturday. The average attendance for our last month of school was .97. 24 of the 34 pupils were neither absent nor tardy. AH reports of the school are favorable, except the visits of the parents of which there have been none.
