The Coos Bay Still Hopes For Railroad Via Drain. Marsh fie W TieA-'cord.fng to unofficial but well substanti ated advices that haxe reached CoosJiay, the Southern Pacific officials have decided that the ex tension to Coos Bay shall be built via Draia instead c f Eugene and Florence, as was urged by Gener al Manager O'Brien. The decis ion is said to have been reached a few days ago, the Drain route, which was the choice of Vice President Calvin, at San Fran cisco, being adhered to by the Eastern officials of the road after examining the claims set 'forth for both routes. However, the date of building the line has not been fixed, or at any rate not announced. Some of the Southern Pacific officials say that work on it may be re sinned this year hut that is not certain., The old survey and plans will be adhered to. However, it is not anticipated that any announcements will be made regarding the matter unti certain properties which the com pany desires are secured.
