CoosJiay, the Southern Pacific
officials have decided that the ex
tension to Coos Bay shall be built
via Draia instead c f Eugene and
Florence, as was urged by Gener
al Manager O'Brien. The decis

a few days ago, the Drain route,
which was the choice of Vice
President Calvin, at San Fran

Eastern officials of the road after
examining the claims set 'forth
for both routes.
However, the date of building
the line has not been fixed, or at
any rate not announced. Some
of the Southern Pacific officials
say that work on it may be re
sinned this year hut that is not
certain., The old survey and
plans will be adhered to.
However, it is not anticipated
that any announcements will be
made regarding the matter unti
