Mr. and Mrs. F. P. Heydon were passengers to Portland Wednesday. Wilford Bancroft accidentally shot Charlie Wurtzenbarger through the chin with a 22 ride on Tuesday af ternoon, but getting medical help immediately, the child is improving slowly. Mildred Chapin was a Portland visitor the latter part of the week. Mr. L. Frink, of Oregon City, is In Falls City packing his household goods. Eva Chapin was visiting friends in Portland Wednesday and Thurs day. Robert Wonderly has gone to his claim. Word was received Tuesday that J. H. Flower who is in Berkley, Cal., for medical treatment, ia getting along nicely and will be home In three weeks. Loleta Dennis is visiting her grand parents, W. I. Reynolds and wife at Buena Vista. Haley, as clerk, were re-elected without oppo sition, a sign that the voters of the district are satisfied with their work. The Normal exercises passed oil very creditably, not only to the stu dents, but showed that the manage ment, under President Ackerman, is a credit to the school. Long live the Normal and its president. Mrs. C. Copeland, of Newport, is in town, to be with her daughter, one of the graduates. Hon. They report a good time. The Airlie ball team won the game. We will have a new railroad soon, if surveying is any sign. The South ern Pacific company has made a sur vey from Newport to the J. M. The thunder storm Friday fore noon struck and destroyed four tele phone poles on the Farmer's line, between T. W.
