Robbed a Sick Man. idoubtedly the meanest man on l is in Cottage Grove. There be some hopes for a mnn who take his revolver and “ hold up” fellow mnn on the highway and Wm of his money. It takes IB with nerve anil courage to nit a deed of that kind, but the who would go through a sick 's pocket“ and take his belong- ia to be classed with the man would “ steal the coin off of his I mother’s eyes.” lat such a case occurred iu this this week. Dr E T Anderson been quite sick for some time last Saturday morning the K of dge, of which the doctor is a iber, decided to move him from oom in Willson’s Lodging House is office, when it was discovered his pants pockets had been I and that a puise containing it $12.50 had been taken. le Leader reporter interviewed Anderson and we learn thut he a clue to the robbery and that cient evidence will soon be col- ld to warrant an arrest. The Animal Parade. people were afforded amuse- t last Friday afternoon by the agements of the New Era Drug • and Cash Grocery Co. These blisbments had constructed two s, cloth covered animals, an aat and giraffe to represent their active business houees and gave rade in the afternoon. Hundreds eople thronged the streets to ess the sight and they were rded much amusement by the II boys and others who took part, quite a novel a d v ertisin g ar The Carrie Stanley Company. Wednesday evening the Carrie Stanley Dramatic Co opened a four nights engagement at the Opera House, with the startling tragedy, “ A False Friend,” or “A Klondyke Claim. While the company was greeted by only a fair audience they were deserving of a crowded house. The play is a good one and was very ably staged. The roll of Blanche Foster the leading lady, was hand led in a pleasing manner by Miss Carrie Stanley, while heavy work of Chas Burns in the roll of Jasper Blythe was above the average. The minor characters were very credit ably sustained. Master Walter the child performer is very clever in all bis work and “ Nig” the dog flayed his part to perfection, capturing Blythe and tearing his coat entirely off then throwing him to the ground.
