K. on said scales last week. About fifty people assembled on the banks of the beautiful Row River at the new steel bridge last Saturday at 10:00 a. m. to witness the baptizing of Mr. and Mrs. Sechrist, who both desired to follow the example of their Lord, by going down into the river and being buried beneath the water. The ordinance was administered by H. M. Fagan, pastor of the Christian church. It was a beautiful and impressive ceremony and one long to be re membered by those who witness ed it. C. Mrs. Anna Graham left yester day afternoon for Wauna, near Astoria, to join her husband who is agent and telegraph operator at that place. Mrs. Graham’s departure will be keenly felt in society and social circles in which she has always been prominently connected, and her numerous friends wish her a safe and pleas ant journey to her new home at Wauna-on-the-Columbia. Mrs. Graham will be also greatly missed by the printing fraternity here, for besides being an expert tele graph operator, she is a first class compositor and has held situa tions on both local papers at var ious times. The Leader force will miss her frequent pleasant visits to this office. Many peo ple in Cottage Grove well remem ber Mr. Graham, as he was en gaged in business here some months ago. Mrs. J. E.
