Profees, r George Severance now h ie the com pilation of the weather data in charge, and states the eummailxation of results as follows: " F o r the past fifteen years the ex perim ent station has kept a close rec ord of the temperature of eaffi day of the year, striking an average between the temperature of morning and oven- ing, which we call the ‘ mean tempera tu re.’ H aving kept the record for a month the custom has then been to get the average ‘ mean’ for the entire month.
