Metz of Pendleton and Mordo McDonald of Walla Walla were prom inent horsemen present from a distance. They said the show whs superb in every respect and that Wallowa coun ty had some of the beat horses of the entire West. A representative of the Pacific Rural Spirit was also enthusi astic in his praise of all the stock. He said Craig's bull, "Bright Promise, ' is the best on the Coast. Metz & Sons were of right proud of their exhibit. The' three Percherons shown by Greer Bros, were from the Metz stables. The 2-year old , shire was sold to T. C. Bunnell for a price said to be $2000. It is a fine colt. "Acentus," better known as "Old Blackie," is the daddy of them all. He was 22 years old on the 4th of March, and is still a fine stallion. All the horses were thin as is best just entering the season. Their bhdw weights would run from 100 to 200 Dounds more than they tipped the beam for Saturday. George Craig had a fine show of hrs thoroughbred Herefords, including five cows, three yearlings and three calves and his matchless 3-year-old bull, "Bright Promise." The latter tipped the scales at 1825 pounds and would weigh a ton easily if fat. Mordo McDonald had a fine herd of Jerseys pn exhibition. W. E. A. Watson bought the Shet land pony for $75. The parade was worth coming miles to see, and everybody unites in saying it beat all previous 9hows. The entire affair was well managed by J. D. Woodell. S. L.
