Bloom celebrated her 50th birthday Saturday by enter taining at dinner the ladles In town who have also reached the half cen tury mark. The table, which was fairly loaded with good things to eat was beautifully decorated with a mln iature lake and pansles, and at each plate was a small bouquet of pan sles and a card with Prov. 31:15, the blrth-date and present date. The afternoon was pleasantly spent In conversation. Those present whe are at the half-century mark in age were Mrs. W. R. Holmes' Mrs. Frank Stubblefield, Mrs. Daniel Weaver, Mrs. A. M. Wagner, Mrs John Calvin and Mrs. Bloom. Vest. An unusually large audience greet ed the Streeter-Bryan company Sat urday night in The Christian and everyone speaks In highest terms ol the manner In which it was pre sented. Miss Bryan made an Ideal Glory Quayle and her elegant im ported gowns added much to her at tractive beauty. Morrle B. Streetei who has pleased Enterprise audi ences for so many weeks as a come dlan played an entirely different role and the zealous character of John Storm was brought out strongly. II was the first heavy play the com pany has given here but It proved their right to be ranked as an "al star" company. Miss Nettle Fostei. was strong in the part of Mrs. Cal lender and played with the natural ness that always marks her work o ;eharacter delineation. Joy C. Gallo way played the parts of Brother Paul and Faro, the gambler, and wae equally at home In both. His pretty sister. Polly Love, waswell played b Mrs. Pratt. Joe Slmklns made good in three roles, Parson Quayle, Fathei Lambaugh and the manager. Harry J. Terry always plays with a sympa thetic understanding and, whethei hero or vlllian, loses his personality In the character he Is presenting. As Horatio Drake he was particularly fine. Miss Hotel Roberts and Miss Foster were charming as chorus girls and the scene between them aftei Glory 'a triumph was well done. One of the best characters. In the play was Lord Robert Ure as given by Frank M. Weeks. Mr. Weeks Is ver satile In his talents, and his makeups are very good. He also took the part of Lord Storm. Saturday night of this week the bill Is Tbelma, a dra matization of Marie Corelll's popular story. The orchestra adds much to jthe enjoyment of the plays with ex. cellent music between acts. COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ACCEPT TROY BRIDGE Commissioners Lltch and Locke In spected the Troy bridge July 22, and after a careful examination accepter the structure from the contractors T. F. and Duane Lathrope. The bridge was erectej. last winter but the north abutment was left five feet lower than the solid rock on which the south end of the bridge rested. The court ordered the north end raised to a level with the top of the1 south abutment, and this the Lath-; ropes have bee.i doing the lajt ! month. They have done a good job, too, the long span, 110 feet, the longest In the county, being on a level and a fairly good earth and rock approach put In on the north. The north abut ment is protected from high water by rock rip-rapping, and ths bridgi Is painted from end to end with coal tar. TEACHERS' EXAMINATION.
