S i PEOPLE'S FORI M llililn Iiislilule Following are the advantages of a Hihle institute spiritual and material: 1. Just as an individual must b balanced to be normal to fiave equally developed the intellectual, spiritual and physical phases of his personality so with a community. The Chamber of Commerce ha;i an admirable program for the ma terial development of tho commu nity. To be normal and healthy the spiritual growth must keep pace with the physical or we will lose sight of the finest things in life The liible institute will do just this for tho community. 2. In that it is iindenomina tlr.nal yet thoroughly Christian it will appeal to people who, for rea sou of their own, mistrust denom- inationalibin, and will give these the benefit of the ripest Christian scholarship of the day. 3. It will be a unifier of the religious forces of the community, nuking possible a healthier co operation and Bweetcr Christian fellowship. 4. It will stimulate religious activity, re-invigorate local churches, enlist new people in tho great program of the church, cre ate an interest in the great, no ble, worth-while and fundamental things of lire. 5. But there is also a very ma terial advantage in this Ilible in-! stitute. If plans coutemphited mature, many people will tent In th'. community during Chautauqua and continue through (he insti tute. This will enliven business and bring trade benefits lo our merchants. It will bring more revenue than did the Round I'p which brought gn-at crowds for a few days; for. V bile no great nia of people will gether at any one time their lon ger stay will more than rotnpeti mte for the lesser number. 4. It will put our fine Chau tai qua building to an admirable use. and thus help make us feel inore that the structure fills a real id in the community. In a following article we will Mate the nature of this Institute. Dates are inly 2a lo August 22 ' C. V. About 50 of tho latter came up late .u the afternoon, prepared to have dinner in the park. Owin? to the rain of the night before, the visitors found the park rat he damp and chilly, so the guests ad journed to the church where the dinner was spread on the tables in the basement. As announced previously the evening services in the locul church were turned over to the visitors. Sixteen members ofj the choir were among thej guests, together with an Instru mental trio, and these furnished an excellent musical program mi-' t;;!!Pfcg$ "Nearest to I iSTife Iverythin I ; ; j HOTEL MANX Powell St., at G Tamil San Franclscc In the heart of the business, shopping and theatre district.
