Andrew Ladd, who has been on trial at Corvallis for the murdenof Charles Bengo, has-been acquitted. Camparative statistics show less per cent, of losses on the Columbia Biver Bar for the past twenty years,, thaa, at the en trance to any other port in, the United States, and the iacts may be easily pro duced to show the fallacies- p such, wide discriminations by underwriters- and in surers, in favor of other ports, and against the port of Oregon.
