Community Suppers are held each Wednesday at one of four local churches and is sponsored by St. Andrews Episcopal, New Life Lutheran, Presbyterian Church of the Siuslaw and Florence United Methodist Church. Suppers for March: March 1: New Life Lutheran Church, 21st and Spruce streets. March 8: The Presbyterian Church, 3996 Highway 101. March 15: United Methodist Church, Second and Kingwood streets March 22: The Episcopal Church, 2136 19th St. March 29: New Life Lutheran, 21st and Spruce streets. Anyone who would like to join in a friendly meal once a week is welcome. Donations towards the cost of the meals will be accepted but not required. Come for a meal, no strings attached. He’s also done solo perform- ances over the years, ranging from dance music in clubs to lighter fare for dinner music. Elk’s to present ‘Best Wurstfest’ today Today at the Florence Elks Lodge, there will the “Best Wurstfest” on the Oregon Coast, a Bavarian-themed fes- tival to raise funds for voca- tional scholarships. The festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Florence Elks Lodge, 1686 12th St. The public is welcome to attend this fundraisng event. Enter through the north door. The “Best Wurstfest” is being held inside the Lodge. Admission is $5, and chil- dren under age 12 will be admitted free. All proceeds from this event go to fund vocational scholarships to be awarded to students in our community. Come and enjoy the Bavarian atmosphere.
