Photos courtesy of John Pohlman CYAN MAGENTA YELLOW BLACK For the 2016/17 academic year, the Lane Community College Foundation and LCC Florence awarded 21 scholarships − totaling $50,320 − to LCC students residing in western Lane County. Many of the scholarships were a result of generous contributions from the Florence community, both private and commercial. Award presentations were held at the Siuslaw Valley Fire and Rescue building on June 9. In addition to the recipients’ family and friends, LCC President Mary Spilde, Executive VP, Academic & Student Affairs, Dawn DeWolf, Executive Dean, Academic Affairs, Mary Jeanne Kuhar, LCC Florence Director, Russ Pierson, and many prominent community members and contributors were in attendance.
