I earned a masters from NLU, and I worked in Social Services for 5 years before becoming a paramedic. I have 3 children and one grandson, I enjoy a variety of sports, hobbies, church and volunteer activities including working as a boxing coach. I grew up in Florence and love protecting the community I gew up in. I am a mother of a busy boy named Logan. In my spare time I vounteer my time as an assistant coach for Siuslaw Softball. I was in the Army from 1965 to 1968 and in 1970 I married my wonderful wife Linda and we had a son, Christopher and a daughter, Melissa. I was on the Mapleton Fire Department 32 years. I started with Western Lane Ambulance in 1988. I have a granddaughter Alyssa and a grandson Garrett. I had always wanted to work with WEstern Lane Ambulance District and when the opportunity came, I didn't hesitate to take the position or ever had regrets afterwards. I have always felt honored to work alongside WLAD Board of Directors, previous District Manager and the staff! Always look for ways to better our service to the community in which we care for. Recently completed the National Fire Academy EMS Management classes. I have been a paramedic with Western Lane Ambulance District since 2006. I really enjoy spending time with my wife Wendy and my kids; Makenzie and Logan in the outdoors: fishing and shooting, going to the beach and barbequing in the backyard. Then became a volunteer fire fighter and then an EMT. After receiving my EMT I Certification, WLAD hired me as a part time employee then 2 years later offered me a full time position. I love volunteering in my community to help promote, education, community involvement relationship and growth. I started part time with WLAD in March 1984 as an EMT I. Became an EMT 2 and in March of 1988 became a full time medic for WLAD. In early 1990’s went to school and become an EMT 3 to Paramedic. I have been a Paramedic for over 20 years. I am married to a wonderful wife for 36 years and have 3 kids and 7 grandkids. Growing up near Eugene, Oregon. After paramedic school I was determined to move to Florence, get a full-time job at the Emergency Department and obtain a part-time position with Western Lane Ambulance. So far my dreams are coming true, truly things are luckier here in Florence, Oregon.
