It is sugirestcd bv the Committee that that the several counties hold their Primary Conventions on th. ..d day ofAujrust, ls7:$. at 3 I. Where this arrangement does not suit the convenience of the Democracy of the several counties, it is expected that they will make the necessary changes through their Count v Commit tees. W. I,. Win i K. Chn. Dem. State Central Com. JLV. liuowN, N 'cretary. O i Meetln-of Hie Otmocratic Stale Ccn " tral Committee. The Democratie State Ceidral Com mittee met at Portland last Saturday, and effected a permanent organiza tion by the election of Col. W. Ij- White, of this city, as Chairman, and Gen. M. V. Uron, of Albany, Sec retary. Every county in the State with the excepti n of four, Colum bia, Josephine, Tillamook and Yam hill, were represented. The best of feeling characterised the actions of the Committee, raid a general ex change of sentiments was had. Tho reports from the various members of O the Committee, from all parts of the State are of the most cheering char acter, and are very favorable for our success. The Committee set the iHh of September as the time for holding the State Conversion, at Portland. The apportionment was based on the Democratic vote- cast for Hon. John Ihirnett, one representative for each hundred votes and one for every frac tion of over sixty. It is hoped that the counties will respond enthusias tically to this call, and that every eountv will be fullv represented in the State Convention. Iet there be as few proxies as possible, and let the voters select men who will faith fully represent them. The voters must select men who will vote for the man they desire, and a fair expres sion of the wishes of tho people, there can be no doubt as to the result. But trickerv and unfair means to o secure the nomination of a man the Ismoeraey don't want will berebuk at the polls, and such nominee will be defeated by an ovewhelming ma jority. The mas.-es w'ill no longer be deceived by political intrigues, and the lessons which we have re ceived in the past, should be a warn O inginthe future. Let the Democratic voters turn out to tl: primaries, and O ("elect men who will cast the vote in ine county convention lor men that f , . ... . , wili vote fvr the ciioice of the pre cinct, and let the County Conventions be careful to not vote for any man that is likely to misrepresent them in t .eirwishes. In this way we shall have a fair expression of the State, and a man put up for our support who will be acceptable to the masses of the Democratic voters. They are the o.ies to bo consulted, and not thos who have heretofore voted tin liadi cal ticket. A proper nomination will unito the Democracy in thiS State, kxA when united and enthusiastically working for the success of their standard-bearer, the victory is their's, and Oregon willsh v that II idicalism has no home within her borders.
