T O But, after all. the gr«at body of work 1"« women arc in th e in d u strial w orld,' and hero is g reat need to b e tto r s a fe guard the conditions o f life for th e fu ture mothers of the race. Th» large class of girls who are taken very young from the home, are losing the training fo r future home keeping, w hicv in the | •Id order »hey learned in domestic ser viee. The law s should more carefully p oteet all women under 21, both as to conditions o f labor and wag*n, but there is a d ifficu lty an d a need which the law directly cannot touch The dif fic u lty »• that girls going young to work in factories and shops, lose very often the work sense; there is a dem or nlixation o f th* faeu ltv o f true service. To devise any method by which this d iffie n lty w ay be met ia perhap the hardest problem in tho whole lib er world.
