When the party reached West Point, Miss., $000 additional was required to make the trip. This was $3 more per person, for those intending to go on to Chicago when the party reached St. Louis. About this time the majority of the dupes of Kennedy and bis partner relused to pay anv more. A few. however, paid the required $3. and they started for Chicago. Advices from Sofia state that deep interest is felt in the Bulgarian capital in the outcome of the Coburg family council, which it is expected will be held at the estate of the AicL duke Joseph in Hungary in a few days. The meeting is understood to most deeply concern Prince Ferdinand, inasmuch as it is be lieved to have been call to discuss the matrimonial prospects of the Bulgarian ruler. Prince Ferdinand and his mother are to be present, and the princess Stephanie, widow of Prince Rudolph of Austria, and her mother, the queen of the Bel gians, will also attend, together with several others connected by birth or marriage with the Coburg family. The delay has given the miners much encouragement. They now say that tbey will fight. President Harrison may have to call aid, as the state is threatened with an in vasion from Kentucky. It is said on what seems to be good authority that arms are being purchased in Knoxville for the use of persons in the neighbor hood of Coal Creek. An investi gation shows that in the past 24 toura there has been an unusually large number of calls at Knoxville hardware stores for Winchester rifles. It is said that about 500 men in the vicinity of Williams burg, Ky., are ready to come to the aid of the miners in Coal Creek. It is known a telegram was received from a Pennsylvania mining town proposing contribu tions of money and also men, if necessary. At no time has the situation appeared more serious, though there will be no conflict until the governor moves the con victs. The sheriff of Anderson county, the seat of the mining troubles, has disappeared. The governor will hold another consultation as soon as the sheriff can be found. An Oil Company Failure.
