Whiteaker's store at Creswell was broken into and the safe robbed. The burglars drilled into the safe and blew it open with powder. They firet covered the Moor around the safe with trash so as to deaden the sound of the explosion. They were euccessfu in their ello; ts ami secured about $500 in cash. The ollicers were notified early Friday morning and com menced a seal ch for the burglars but have been unable to find any clue of thorn. The deputy called to him to halt, and theconimand not being beetled the deputy imbed bis gun and fired, the shot taking eil'ect in the lefi leg of the prisoner. The prisoner was then recaptured and taken to Fort Spokane. It will probably be necessary toamputute the limb.
