If so, for what kind oi crops? and how applied? and in what quantity for a giving sur face. Also, what experience any of them have had with the green fly on apple trees? what harm do they do? and what connection have the small black ants with the fly and what is their remedy. The foregoing questions ar- a few out of many which I have to ask of your readers, but these may suffice for the present. A gentleman living in Albany has received a letter from a friend in California inquiring about the land of the Willamette V.illev, as to whether or not it is suited for the raising of sngar beet, etc. The writer also stated that a repre sentative of the great sugar king, Claus Spreckles, would visit Ore gon during the summer for the purpose of ascertaining its adapta bility to the sugar !eet with a view of erecting a beet sugar factor. His attention has been called to Albany on account of its splended hipping facilities. Following is what the Spokane Chronicle has to say of the McKan lass minstrels who will give a performance in this city this evening: The McKanlass oper atic minstrels opened last night to a good house. We must acknowl edge that the show is first class in every respect, and the jokes and songs are all new- and fresh. McKanlass is a great cominedian, a good singer and a graceful dan cer, and his violin and banjo play ing is phenomenal. Master Wilfie is a little wonder, and with his little sister they make the greatest little team that ever appeared in pokane. They are the most fin ished children performers we have ever seen; and Miss Grillin. the vocalist, sang some very difficult and pleasing songs, receiving sev eral verv heart v encores.
