This morning Robert Dalton, a painter, while at work, lost his footing and fell across two electric wires, Ho was instantly killed by the currents. Influenza ia New York. A Yn Lady with the Disease. New York, Dec. 16. Dr. Esou, of the health board, to-day reported that there had been discovered in this city eight cases of foreign influenza. Tha first victim, a young laey, as taken down Thursday last. It is sup posed she contracted the disease from a family who returned from Eun-pu a few days ago. Her first symotn was vertigo, speedily followed by headache and chills. Then she be came deathly tick with pains i her limbs and muscles. This was succeed ed by bronchial catarrh, eoreuv s of the throat and coughing, followed by a high fever and an exceedingly rapid pulse, which at times reached 1'?'' to the minnte.
