Yesterday mcrning a young Scotchman named Crawford Jame son, who has been engaged in a surveying party on the V. V. & C. M. Wagon Koad, came down from Lebanon and left on the south bound train. A gentleman Iroin Lebanon states that Jameson and some of the city officers afforded the citizens of Lebanon a whole picnic Monday evening. Jameson oecame somewhat hilarious from over indulgence in the Uowing howl, and started out to naiut the town a carmine hue. He became over boisterous in the liven' stable of W. C. Peterson and Police Offi cer Shaw, with the aid of a man named Morgan, attempted to ar ret him. Jameson coolly drew a revolver and covering the two offi cers, told them he was not to be taken. The officers quickly with drew and Jameson and his com panion continued to hold the fort. Considerable excitement was occa sioned over the matter, and nearly t te w hole town turned out to get a glimpse of the man whom the city authorities could not arrest. He finally withdrew and quietly went to bed, and the officers declared thev would arrest him in the morn ing, but wtien the nervy surveyor, who had cool gray eyes and showed that h was very handy with a re volver, proceeded to the deot to take the train, no one interfered with him. It is said the oflicers afterwards felt like kicking theni selvt s to think that they let a small man like he was defy the whole town authorities. SEAL ESTATE TKAftMFEB.
