Our Spe cial Correspondant Writes a Com imiaicatioa from the Hop Yards. Walton Lane Co. Or. After a run of four w eeks in the hop fields east of Eugene, where j but two accidents worthy of note occureu : first the loss ot a finger by a two year old child of Mr. Mooney. The children were play ing in an old hop house with a feed cutter; one of the larger boys turned the crank as fast as he could and then ran away and left the machine running, and the lit tle fellow put his hand in where the straw should have been, and the machine took his little finger close off to the first joint. Harry Mattison was driving to Springfield depot, with Lizzie Copenhaver and her cousin Edith, the team took fright and ran away, throwing Harry' out on one of the horses, which dumped him on the ground with a slightly injured wrist. The two young ladies were thrown forward between the horses and were very severly injured. The spring seat followed and lit on one of the horses, which kicked it over to the otiier which caught it on the fly, with a well directed kk, sending it in pieces to grass, The horse ran a little way and brought up against a tree without further damage. It is supposed that the young man's arms were out of place, which was the cause of the horses getting the advan tage of him.
