The Rain Int rfe es With the -"emonstra-tions at Pot tl and Ihe Froc-. ;dins Special to the Hkrai.o. Portland, Sept. 20. The con vention of the republican clubs of Oregon was called to order th's afternoon at 2 o'clock, but on ac count of the inclemency of the weather and the postj onement of the demonstrations tonight, a large number of republicans had gone home, hence tiie attendance was not very large. The name of M. L. Lane, of Salem, was entered upon the records as delegate from the Salem republican club. On tiie nomination of Mr. Lane the Mine of Hon. John G. Wright was added to the executive committee to represent Marion county. M. G.Gritfin moved that the executive committee be instructed to prepare an address to be issued to the peo ple of Oregon concerning the work ings of the convention, which was adopted by acclamation. By mo tion of Hon. J. Lea sure the meeting adjourned sine die. Immediately Hon. M. C. George called to order the members of the executive committee to make ar rangements preparatory to a gener al adjournment. Chairman George was instructed to wiit-i an address to be extended to the people of the state, and also write a letter asking membership f.r the state league in the national republican league. On motion of Secretary Miller the meeting ad journed till the call ot the presi dent. fine Hiiix- for Sale.
