J . law, Albany, The Hi'.rai-i s Special Dispatches. Portland, March 22. The nar row gauye train bound for Portland met with an accident, this after noon the other side of Osw ego. The engine and tender j umped the track on account of some obstruc tion, the origin of which is un known, and fell a distance of fif teen feet. The train was a mixed one, carrying ireignt, live stot-K, and passengers. Just what the re sult of the accident is cannot be learned at this hour, but it is known that some of the stock was killed, and at least lour or five pas sengers are hurt. It is reported that the engineer and fireman es caped by jumping from the cab. the conductor was badly miured about the head. No one was killed. Kewl EMlle. Hanson, John W. Briedwell, P.H. Messner and C. C. Ferguson dele gates to the state convention. Res olutions were passed indorsing Cleveland's and Pennover's admin istrations. The delegates were in structed to present, the name of Hon. V. D. ienum to tae state convention as delegate to St. Louis. The great flood on the upper Missouri continues and the river is still ris ing. There is six feet of water on the railway at Wolf Point and the bridges are all washed out. The Milk river is commencing to break up and the country is flooded for forty miles around. Cattle men and Indians will lose large quan tities of hay and wood. There will be son,e loss in sttck, and if the river gorges at this point the loss will be immense. NEW YORK FLOODS. New York, March 22. Several I ridges on the West Shore railway have been carried away by the floods, and the traffic of the road is being sent by the way of the New York Central. Senator Dolph prepared a bill for that purjjose two yearsago and it has been waiting until the dem ocratic party can find time from its internal squabbles to pass so worthy a measure. Perhaps the president was not aware of this and perhaps he merely wished to give the majority a hint of its re sponsibility in the matter, and it is hardly probable that even the president can get his party to pass the bill.
