He was conscious almost tothe last moment. Memorial services were held there at 2 o'clock Mon day afternoon. The funeral will be held at East Portland to-day at 11 A.M. Lecture by Arcbbitlion ta-s. Archbishop W. II. Gross, D. D., of Portland, will lecture in the Catholic church in the city on Match 4th at 7 p. si. on the subject of "Family and Society." Irvine, had ollered a chance for a ride on their construction train to Munkers on the other side of the Santiam river and that Scio Grange held their installation of officers I . niai uay, we, m company with several others, took advantage of the occa sion and accepted a place in the caboose of the construction train. A ride of half an hour brought us to our destination, on the prairie about two miles from Scio, where the railroad company has con structed a fine elevator warehouse, und in as fine a porrion of the country as the sun shines upon.
