IE Information was received in this I citv vesterdav that the bodv of I Benjamin Ohling, who was drowned m the Willamette at Corvallis in December last, liad been found in the river below Buena Vista. The body was of course in a stage of decomposition, but the parties by whom the remains were discovered were confident that they were those of the unfortunate young man. His brothers, who reside in Linn county between this city and Corvallis, were notified and have gone after the body. Mitchell's Remedy for Opium Smuggling on the Coast. In an interview Senator Mitchell' of Oregon, said : "lam informed trom various sources that smug gling, especially of opium, has grown to an alarming extent on the Pacific slope. I have studied the subject carefully, and believe there is one way it can be prevented. I would suggest a reduction of the duty of $10 a pound on opium, which was recognized as being for the purpose of really prohibiting its introduction into this country"!
